Starr Pass, AZ Real Estate

With the addition of the JW Marriott Starr Pass resort in 2004, Starr Pass has quickly become one of the hottest developments in Tucson. Artfully combining desert beauty with functional living, Starr Pass is comparable to the far-east side neighborhoods in terms of serenity, quiet and views, and as convenient as living in the middle of the city with it's access to the freeway, airport and downtown. It strives to be a community mindful and respectful of the desert beauty surrounding it, as evidenced when the developers had a Native American Spiritual Advisor bless the property before they broke ground.

Located on the west side of town, Starr Pass is just minutes from the freeway, downtown, 4th avenue - one of Tucson's cultural centers - Tucson Mountain Park, the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, Old Tucson Studios, the International Wildlife museum and of course the JW Marriott. Historic Tubac and Nogales, Mexico are both less than an hour away.

Starr Pass has it's own country club and spa, as well as facilities available at Marriott, which are open to residents through a club membership. In addition, Starr Pass has one of Tucson's premier desert golf courses, 27 holes designed by Arnold Palmer. Between the Marriott and the country club, you can find shopping and up to seven restaurants located within minutes of your home no matter where you live in Starr Pass.

Homes in this area typically have amazing views and desert landscape. The homes are either contemporary, flat roofed ranch, or tile-roofed Spanish-style homes. There is a mix of golf casitas, custom homes, gated communities and some condos, as well as lots for sale and brand new homes. Low light restrictions in the development ensures that your view of sparking Tucson and the Milky Way will never be drowned out.

Students in this neighborhood are zoned to Tucson Unified school district, and attend Cholla (pronounced "choi-ya") High School, which is conveniently located at the very beginning of Starr Pass road on the way to the highway. There are walking paths, hiking trails, golf cart paths and parks located throughout Starr Pass. It's location in the Tucson Mountains close to Saguaro National Park also means development is limited and it will never be completely surrounded.
